RO: Germania este cu siguranță una dintre țările noastre preferate, iar în Bavaria, cel mai mare land al țării, ne-am întoarce oricând, oricum, fără doar și poate. Ba chiar am îndrăzni să spunem că ne-am dori să trăim aici, având la o aruncătură de băț atâtea locuri minunate de văzut. Și cine nu a auzit de castelul de basm Neuschwanstein, de castelul Linderhof sau de castelul Herrenchiemsee, toate construite de regele Ludovic al II-lea al Bavaria? Ori de renumita piață Marienplaz, de castelul Nymphenburg sau de faimosul Oktoberfest din capitala land-ului? Și cine n-a văzut măcar o poză de pe Zugspitze, de sus? Și cine n-a visat la piețele de Crăciun perfecte din Rothenburg ob der Tauber sau învecinatele Dinkelsbuhl și Nordlingen, de pe Romantic Road? Și chiar dacă în general Bavaria este preferată de cea mai mare parte a turiștilor care vizitează Germania (ba chiar aproape 30% din românii care au făcut-o în 2018 au ales Bavaria), noi am îndrăzni să spunem că întreaga țară, cu toate land-urile sale,  are enorm de multe de oferit. Berlinul e superb, Nuremberg fermecător, Frankfurt intrigant cu mixul sau de tradițional de modern, Hamburg de-a dreptul impresionant cu arhitectura sa atât de diversă. Sate adorabile peste tot, case construite din bârne de lemn (ba chiar există și un drum tematic, Timber Frame Road, dedicat satelor cu stilul acesta de case), castele și palate superbe, drumuri pitorești și peisaje absolut senzaționale! Si dacă nu erau deja suficiente motive să ne dorim să vedem fiecare colțisor din Germania, ei bine, în urmă cu doi ani am descoperit și partea de nord a țării, în insula Rugen, unde am găsit niște plaje demențiale și o vreme perfectaaaa pentru lenevit. Și da, ori de câte ori suntem întrebați care este țara noastră preferată din Europa, spunem Olanda fără să ne gândim de două ori, însă dacă ar fi să judecăm după numărul de zboruri… Germania pare să ne fie în topul preferințelor 😀

EN: Germany is for sure one of our favourite countries and without any sort of second thoughts, we would always come back to Bavaria, the biggest land of the country! We would even dare to say that we would like to live here, having so many gorgeous places to visit at just a stone’s throw away. Who hasn’t heard about the fairytale Neuschwanstein Castle, Linderhof Castle or Herrenchiemsee Castle, all built by King Ludwig II? Who doesn’t know about the renowned  Marienplaz, Nymphenburg Castle or the famous Oktoberfest from the capital of the land? And who hasn’t seen at least one picture taken up above from Zugspitze? Who hasn’t dreamt about the perfect Christmas markets from Rothenburg ob der Tauber or the neighboring Dinkelsbuhl and Nordlingen, from the Romantic Road? And even though Bavaria is in general most preferred y tourists visiting Germany (actualy 30% from the Romanian people who visited Germany have chosen Bavaria), we would dare to say that the entire country, with all its lands, has so much to offer. Berlin is gorgeous, Nuremberg so charming, Frankfurt is almost intriguing with its mix of traditional and modern, Hamburg is just impressive with its diverse architecture. Adorable villages all over the place, timber frame houses (there is actually a themed road called Timber Frame Road, filled with this type of villages), gorgeous castles and palaces, picturesque roads and stunning scenery! And if there weren’t already enough reasons to tempt us to see every little corner of Germany, oh well, two years ago we discovered the northern part of the country, in Rugen Island, where we found some amazing beaches and a perfect weather to… do nothing J Whenever we are asked which is our favourite country in Europe we say without a doubt The Netherlands, however if we were to consider the number of flights to a destination… well Germany seems to be on top of our preferences 😀

 

RO: Lăsând însă la o parte lunga introducere a acestui articol, pare-se că am fost inspirați de conferința de presă ce a avut loc zilele trecute la Muzeul de Artă Recentă, și ne-am amintit de toate locurile frumoase din Germania pe care le-am vizitat împreună de-a lungul timpului. Scopul evenimentului a fost celebrarea celor 100 de ani de la fondarea curentului artistic Bauhaus. Iar întreagă campanie de marketing a Organizației de Turism din Germania este să promoveze țara ca principală destinație aleasă de europeni când vine vorba de turism, în special de cel cultural. Școala Bauhaus a fost fondată în 1919 în Weimar (oraș despre care pană acum nu știam mare lucru, doar că are o bibliotecă demențial de frumoasă, în stil rococo, numită Herzogin Anna Amalia Bibliothek), mutându-se la scurt timp în Dessau și apoi Berlin. Însă Weimar este reprezentat de trei mari nume: mișcarea Bauhaus (în Weimar se află și muzeul Bauhaus) și doi dintre cei mai importanți scriitori ai Germaniei: Goethe și Schiller. Iar când vom ajunge în zonă, vom alege să facem un road trip care va include pe lângă pitorescul Weimar și orașul Erfurt, un oraș medieval cu un centru vechi absolut superb. Și am mai adăuga noi și partea de nord, dinspre Hanovra, cu mititelul Einbeck în frunte și-apoi Hildesheim, Brunswick, o scurtă vizită la Autostadt în Wolfsburg și în final poate și o plimbare prin Celle. Am pus întregul itinerariu aici, să fie la îndemână 🙂

EN: But leaving aside the long introduction of this article, seems that we’ve been inspired by the press conference that was held the other days at the Museum of Recent Art in Bucharest, which actually reminded us about all the beautiful places we’ve seen together in Germany. The purpose of the event was to celebrate 100 years since the artistic movement Bauhaus was founded. And the entire marketing campaign of the German National Tourist Board is to promote the country as the main destination chosen by Europeans when it comes to tourism, especially the cultural tourism. The Bauhaus school was founded in 1919 in Weimar (a city that we did not know much about until now, just that it has an incredibly beautiful library, in rococo style, called Herzogin Anna Amalia Bibliothek), which has been moved to Dessau and then to Berlin. But Weimar is represented by three great names: the Bauhaus movement (there is the Bauhaus museum here) and two of the most important German writers: Goethe and Schiller. And when we’ll get to this area again, we will plan a road trip that will include the picturesque Weimar but also the medieval Erfurt, with a gorgeous old town center. And we would also add the northern part, close to Hanover, with the tiny Einbeck on top of our list and then Hildesheim, Brunswick, a short visit to Autostadt in Wolfsburg and in the end a short walk in Celle. We have the entire itinerary here, just to have it at hand 🙂 

RO: Stilul arhitectural Bauhaus presupune simplificarea designului, aducerea în prim plan a formelor de bază și folosirea materialelor moderne, precum sticla, oțelul sau betonul armat. Walter Gropius este fondatorul școlii Bauhaus, iar scopul său a fost să rupă barierele dintre artă și meșteșug, considerând că un artist desăvârșit trebuie să stăpânească și partea tehnică, să aibă cunoștințe despre materiale, prelucrarea acestora sau tâmplărie. Printre cele mai renumite clădiri construite în stil Bauhaus se numără școala Bauhaus din Dessau, Arhiva Bauhaus din Berlin, turnul Einstein din Potsdam, Casa Chile din Hamburg, clădirea Aalto Hochhaus din Bremen, Casa Soho din Berlin și multe, multe altele, nu doar în Germania, cât peste tot prin lume. Pe lângă arhitectură, stilul Bauhaus și-a pus amprenta și în design, scopul fiind eliminarea ornamentelor inutile și introducerea ideii de minimalism.

EN: The Bauhaus architectural style involves simplifying the design, promoting the simplified forms and using state of the art materials like glass, steel or reinforced concrete. Walter Gropius is the founder of the Bauhaus school and what he wanted to achieve with this movement was to unify the art, craft and technology, considering that a real artist should also handle the technical part, having knowledge about the materials, how to work with them, carpentry or woodwork. There are lots of Bauhaus buildings in Germany but the most famous ones are the Bauhaus school in Dessau, the Bauhaus Archive in Berlin, the Einstein Tower in Potsdam, Chile House in Hamburg, the Aalto Hochhaus in Bremen, Soho House in Berlin and many, many others. Actually not only in Germany, but all over the world. Besides architecture, the Bauhaus style influenced interior design as well, its main purpose was to eliminate the unnecessary ornaments and to introduce the idea of minimalism.
