RO: Mai, mai, mai, arhipelagul acesta mititel de numai cateva insule raspandite in mijloc de Atlantic de Nord pare sa fie un adevarat paradox cand vine vorba de preturi in general. Pe de o parte, e unul dintre cele mai scumpe locuri din Europa (daca ne referim la tot ce inseamna inchiriat masini, cazare ori mancare), pe de cealalta are poate cel mai ieftin zbor cu elicopterul din Europa! Daaaaaa, din fericire cei de la Atlantic Airways ofera zboruri cu elicopterul subventionate de stat, pentru a facilita miscarea localnicilor printre insule (un fel de taxi aerian dedicat localnicilor). Cu alte cuvinte, nu se incurajeaza “turistizarea” acestor zboruri insa slava cerului, cand raman locuri disponibile, se pot inghesui si turistii cei dornici de aventura sa zboare la pret de un sandvis in Feroe 🙂 Atata doar ca trebuie avut in vedere ca sunt permise doar zborurile one-way, nu si cele dus-intors, deci e nevoie de putina pregatire in caz ca zborul este pur de agrement – dar nu-i nicio filosofie rocket science!

EN: Well, well, well, this tiny archipelago of a couple of islands spread in the middle of North Atlantic seems to be a real paradox when in comes to prices in general. On one side, it is one of the most expensive places in Europe (if we refer to anything related to rental cars, hotels and food), on the other side it has one of the cheapest helicopter flights in Europe! Yeeeees, Atlantic Airways luckily offers subsidized helicopter flights, to facilitate the locals movement around the islands (a kind of air taxi for the locals), In other words, they don’t want to commercialize these flights for touristic purposes but thanks God, if there are some available seats on the flight, some tourists can also take the sandwich-cheap like flight 🙂 Just that the flights are only one-way, so no return flights organized, so a bit of prior documentation is necessary – but is not rocket science!



RO: Preturile si orarul zborurilor cu elicopterul se gasesc pe siteul acesta si este recomandabil sa se rezerve biletele cu cel putin o zi inainte (sunt maxim 12 locuri pe zbor si de cele mai multe ori se ocupa foarte repede). Noi am ales ruta Torshavn-Vagar, cu o escala pe micuta insula Koltur – insula cu doar doi locuitori permanenti. Am ales special aceasta ruta, chiar daca sunt si altele mai ieftine, insa am vrut neaparat sa avem doua decolari in acelasi bilet :D. Pretul a fost de 27 euro (215 DKK) de persoana iar zborul dureaza nu mai mult de 12 minute. Privelistile sunt absolut spectaculoase, insulele sunt extraordinar de frumoase si impresionante, astfel ca zborurile cu elicopterul au devenit foarte populare printre turistii dornici de fotografii senzationale 🙂

EN: The prices and schedule of the flights can be found on this website and it is advisable to book the tickets at least one day in advance (there are maximum 12 seats on the flight and most of the time are booked very fast). We have chosen the route from Torshavn to Vagar, with a short stopover on the tiny island of Koltur – the island with only two permanent inhabitants. We have chosen this route on purpose, even if there are cheaper ones, but we truly wanted to have two take offs in the same ticket 😀 The price was 27 euro (215 DKK) per person and the flight is no longer than 12 minutes. The views are spectacular, the islands are extremely beautiful and impressive, so the heli flights have become very popular among the tourists willing to take gorgeous photos 🙂 









RO: Problema ramane insa cu intoarcerea, pentru ca dupa cum spuneam, zborurile sunt intr-o singura directie, nu dus-intors. In Vagar aterizarea se face chiar pe aeroportul Sorvagur, iar de acolo ne-a fost foarte usor sa luam un autobuz (autobuzul 300) care sa ne aduca inapoi in Torshavn (calatoria a durat aproximativ o ora). Ajunsi inapoi in Torshavn, a fost nevoie sa mai mergem putin pe jos pana la heliportul Bodanes, insa intreaga aventura a meritat din plin! Daca am fi avut mai multe zile insorite in Feroe, cu siguranta am mai fi mers cel putin o data cu elicopterul 🙂 Asa ca daca aveti drum prin Insulele Feroe, treceti si zborul cu elicopterul pe lista, nu o sa va para deloc rau! 🙂

EN: The only remaining problem is how to return, because as we were saying, the flights are one way only. In Vagar the landing is right on the Sorvagur airport, and from there it was very easy for us to take a bus (bus 300) to get us back to Torshavn (the trip lasted approximately one hour). Once we arrived in Torshavn we just had to walk a little bit until we got to Bodanes heliport, but the entire adventure was worth it! If we would have had more sunny days in the Faroes, we would have taken another flight, for sure 🙂 So if you’re in the Faroe Islands, put the helicopter flight on the list, you will not regret it! 🙂
