Road trip in Islanda

EN: Iceland or The Land of Ice, as the vikings called it, has nothing to do with huge blocks of ice, ringing frost and minus who knows how many degrees, that all come into your head when you pronounce the name of the country. As well as Green-Land, named so by the same sneaky vikings, has nothing to do with the luxuriant forests, vast fields covered in vegetation, the mother and father of all fauna and flora. Well, it’s the other way around to be more precise, and surprise, it has all been just a conspiracy of the vikings, because they wanted to keep the small island in the north part of the Atlantic just for themselves 🙂 And the rest of the wannabe-conquerors to be fooled by the so called “green” land. So Iceland has it all. Mountains covered by glaciers, vast lava fields covered by spongy moss where your feet sink in to your ankles.  Arid terrains and dust storms in Kaldidalur, lusty vegetation in Thingvellir. Not so many trees, no wonder that the Icelanders use to say that “where we have four trees, we call it a forest”. Lakes on top of the mountains, rocky fields that seem to have no ending. Glacial lagoons, glaciers and sinuous fjords. And if you like nature and hiking and road tripping on sideways, Iceland has everything you need. From A to Z, you’ll find everything here! And that’s exactly why we’re planning to go back soon, this time during wintertime! To see the frozen waterfalls and to finally see the Northern Lights!
