Nici macar in Wellington.
EN: Weeeell, what should be the first thing to start with when the New Zealand madness gets you? What should you cram in a two weeks itinerary, what to see first, what to photograph most, how to stop time from passing by just to have a few more moments through the pinkish lupine fields from Lake Tekapo? How can you order them best and efficiently when you want to see the yellow tram from Christchurch, but also the breathtaking scenery from Arthur Pass and the glowing worms from Hokitika and Franz Joseph glacier and Mount Cook and all the madness seen from Roy’s Peak? Where can we fit in a boat ride between the fjords at Milford Sound, a glider tour over Cook, and then Rotorua and a traditional haka, or even a full day of wandering in Hobbiton? To see the kauri trees, to drink a local wine, to finally learn what Kia Ora means and other maori expressions, to see the sperm whales at Kaikoura, all the dramatic landscapes from the southern island, the terrifying glaciers next to the tranquil lakes and the lush forests. The Pancake Rocks from Punakaiki, the deserted roads next to Mount Cook, lake Wanaka with its lonely tree, the penguins from Dunedin and Otago and Stewart Island. And yeeees, we don’t have time for Malborough or Nelson. We’re not gonna get to the north part of the country, at Cape Reinga, either. Not even to Wellington. But we’ll wander the Coromandel Peninsula from tip to toe and we’ll go up north to Whangarei. We’ll see the maori villages and lake Taupo and Tongariro National Park and Emerald Lake! We simply can’t wait to be there and honestly we’re almost bursting into tears when we think that we’re finaaaaally getting to New Zealand!
