Monschau, Germany

EN: The Pearl of the Eifel (heeeey, the region from Germany, not the French tower! :D), Monschau, is a hidden gem, a real gorgeous German town (even though it might look with one foot in Belgium’s Wallonie :P), with its typical half timbered houses, cobblestone streets, local markets and an already famous all around the world Christmas market. We did not see the Christmas fair in September buuut we enjoyed the typical charm of the town and all the fairy tale buildings with flowers at the windows, restaurants and delicious local foods in the central market. It really looks like a mountain hidden gem πŸ™‚ Oh well, we thought that we discovered all the secrets Germany has to offer but Monschau was a really pleasant surprise. And now that we’re so into picturesque towns, we’re putting on the list Trier, Bacharach, and then all those cute villages on the castle route and on the romantic route and all those fabulous bridges! But we’ll soon prepare a wish list with all the beautiful places we’ve found in Germany (long live Pinterest and its inspiring photos :D), so that we will never forget about any other gorgeous hidden gems next time when we’ll be in this area πŸ™‚
