EN: Honestly, these days we haven’t seen anything else than the “big freeze in Europe” in social media π The Ice Age, the Arctic storm,Β “the beast from the East” or theΒ “Siberian bear” as the Dutch people call it, has invaded us and despite the terrible cold and that freezing wind the Dutchies got out of their homes on the frozen canals, ready for some ice skating π Well, the last time when this has happened was six years ago, so there’s no wonder that Amsterdam was almost as crowded as during Koningsdag (King’s Day) this weekend π So many people, bridges full of tourists, an indescribable jostle and a total madness with photographingΒ the courageous ice skaters. Between you and me, no matter how frozen the Keizersgracht and Prinsengracht canals would have been, the ice was not as thick as one could think π Here and there we could see a plash of water or a generous melted piece of ice. In other words, our Dutchies are a bit crazy – but we already knew that they are somehow special when it comes to taking risks π And if we were impressed by the ice skaters or the walkers on the ice, oh well, we’ve often seen Dutch locals riding the bike on the frozen canals π Speaking of obsession for healthy living, right? π
