YVY in Faroe Islands

EN: Honestly, we keep thinking about that famous canyon in Iceland, Fjaðrárgljúfur, meticulously carved by the river Fjaðrá, with its tall and steep cliffs and the edges covered in a surreal green moss. And with no kind of slushy exaggeration, we can say that this is one of the most beautiful places we have even seen so far. And not that we would try to find a similar correspondent in other parts of the world, but in these small Faroese islands we found such a canyon, though in miniature (it only has 200 meters long compared to more than 2 km in Fjaðrárgljúfur). Hidden somewhere at the end of the Eysturoy island, in the small little village of Gjogv that we find on every postcard, the pseudo-canyon is actually a gorge, a beautiful natural harbor where only the sea gulls are wandering around. PS: The tranquil waters of the ocean and the glaring sun might be deceptive, as the village of Gjogv and especially the hidden canyon show their real face once the bad weather comes in and everything looks almost apocalyptic 😀 But we’ll talk more about Gjogv in a detailed article about Eysturoy island (that will soon follow :D) as for now we want to say a couple of words about the Romanian handbags brand, YVY, which you probably already know as the Instagram feed is full of joyful backpacks with angel wings and other accessories. And we appreciate these girls so much for taking their family run business forward (it already has a tradition of more than 40 years!) so we’re going to take this funny winged backpack all over the world!
