EN: To be honest, Colmar is by far the most beautiful Christmas market we’ve ever seen so far! And some might say that Eguisheim, a nearby village, is even better, on the same loveliness-pattern, with the same timbered buildings and the same colorful decorations during wintertime. Buuuuut, if we were to honestly say which of all the Alsace’s Christmas markets we enjoyed the most, oh well, we would say Mulhouse. Tiny and saucy, cosy and fancy and perfectly dressed-up each year with a new “coat”. Well yes, because Mulhouse is the Textile and Fabric Nirvana in Alsace and it was just impossible not to have a different start-fabric to cover the entire city. From the wooden huts in the Christmas Market to the cathedral in Place de la Reunion, from the glasses of “vin chaud” to the table cloths at the restaurants. everywhere the same pattern and the same fabric. A Paradise for each textile obsessed person! Ah, and by the way, the Mulhouse Christmas market is supposedly renowned as being the most colorful and cheerful one in the whole Alsace! And on top of that, there’s a huge wheel in the center of the wooden huts, so that the fairy-tale atmosphere to be even more obvious. So yes, we’re giving the cute Colmar for a short visit in Mulhouse, a glass of mulled wine and a buckled tart, oh yeeees, a tarte flambee with cheese and mushrooms!
