Next Stop: Sri Lanka!

EN:  Fly Dubai check in – done, luggage – done, visas – done, travel guide has an honored place in the bag, the hulk of printed papers are already in the trolley, all the kindergarten is present in the airport (we’re 14!), we’re rolling out the red carpet and we’re going to Sri Lanka! Well, we really have to see what mesmerized Marco Polo so much about it, that he named this small country in the middle of the Indian ocean the most beautiful island in the world! Maybe it was the beautiful beaches in the south, Unawatuna, Hikkaduwa or Bentota or Mirissa, maybe it was the spices, as who doesn’t like the Ceylon cinnamon, the beautiful landscapes seen from Adam Peak, the hospitality of the people or the delicious food? We don’t know, but we’ll follow in his footsteps and we’ll discover every corner of Sri Lanka. Big plans, because six days are not enough to see more than a bit of south and a bit of center. Because we all know the biggest problem of Sri Lanka, and that’s… the roads. But we’re thankful for the new highway that connects Colombo with the southern part of the country, otherwise we would have spent a lifetime and a half to get to Unawatuna. And after we’ll have enough of beaches, palm trees and stilt fishermen, for sure we’ll get to Kandy, and then a short visit Sigiriya, as it reminds us of Angkor Wat. And then a bit of Polonnaruwa, the tea plantations, the Ramboda waterfall and a selfie taken with the blue trains passing by the nine arches bridge between Ella and Domodara, around Nuwara Elya. Well aren’t the train trip the highlight of a Sri Lankan holiday? 🙂 And if we’ll have some more time, maybe a sky bar in Colombo and a cold bath at Negombo (by the way, they say ON14 is the best roog top bar in Colombo – just for the record :D). Ok, we’re done, shut down, boarding is starting!
