EN: Oh well, now that the fall foliage madness got us, as we were envying our Canadian friends for all those lovely pictures posted on Facebook, and after a rainy weekend that did not allow us to take two decent shots, we just thought that it would be appropriate to rub some salt in our wound and read about the so called “leaf peeping” on a Sunday evening. Meaning watching and taking pictures of the colorful autumn leaves, especially in Canada and the United States. And to tell you the truth, what can be better than a large forest of orange and red maple leaves, all seen from up above the Mont Royal?

EN: And as if the cherry blossom madness during springtime in Japan wasn’t enough, we found a new obsession 😀 And no worries, the Japanese people strike back and come with the autumnal replica for the fabulous sakura, full of white and pinkish flowers. So we have some “leaf peeping” in Japan as well, they call it “koyo”. Actually, koyo is simply changing the colors of the leaves, but the activity of watching all this show is called momijigari. Well yes, indeed, we do remember that it was the same during springtime. Sakura is the phenomenon of cherry blossom, but looking and taking pictures is called hanami. Ok, got it. And one more thing, it seems that the Japanese, as well as the Americans and Canadians, have plenty of maple trees as well. Maybe they’re not so renowned for the maple syrup, but what do you now, between all the matcha tea and sake, they also produce some maple syrup. But let’s face it, we don’t need to travel across oceans to see the fall colors. We also have them here, in Europe, some places to fill our cards with tons of jpegs 🙂 One would be the famous Scotland. Then Bavaria, which is quite close to us. And how could we forget about Tuscany (we get some bonus as well, as there is wine season now :D), or maybe Ireland, or maybe Loire Valley.

Thank you Catalin Dima for these amazing photos from Germany!

😀 To be continued!

EN: But why do we keep rambling about this, as our beautiful Romania is also worth mentioning! As we’ve been to Doftana Valley last weekend, and honestly, we couldn’t take any picture with all those stunning colors. But what can we do, it was drizzling and a thick layer of fog prevented us from seeing even three meters in front of us. But who knows, maybe we’ll have more luck next weekend, on the Dutch roads. So we’ll talk again about this topic, we haven’t finished yet with all this fall foliage madness! 😀 To be continued!

Thank you Vali Muresan for the dramatic photos from Pestera Village!
